Universal Orlando Resort And Harry Potter

by Editor with no comments

We recently traveled to Universal Orlando Resort because our children are big fans of Harry Potter.  We stayed at Loews Royal Pacific Resort at Universal Orlando®.   This resort is within the property of Universal Resorts and its very convenient to take a water taxi or walk over to Universal City Walk, Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure.   It was great location especially with children.

The resort staff were friendly and when we checked into the hotel we were also directed to an area kiosk where we entered our room key to get a Universal Express Pass.  The Universal Express passes are great and you can avoid the lines for rides at both parks.  Harry Potter was the only area that did not accept the Universal Pass but we saved so much time with the pass on all of the other rides.

The rooms were nice with two queen beds, a flat screen tv and desk.  Our room overlooked the waterway to the parks.

Butter Beer

A Favorite Drink of Harry Potter, Butterbeer is Now Served in the Harry Potter Theme Area.  Butter Beer taste like Cream Soda and melted marshmallow flavoring.  We had to stop at and get a drink of ButterBeer!

For lunch, we went to Three Broomsticks at Islands of Adventure in the Harry Potter section.   This rustic tavern is where visitors to Hogsmeade™ come to dine on hearty fare. The restaurant serves the “Great Feast Platter,” fish and chips, shepherd’s pie, soup, salads, pumpkin juice and Butterbeer™, plus tasty desserts including apple pie and chocolate trifle.

Later at night, we went over to Universal Studios.  Men In Black is a ride that both children enjoyed because it is an interactive dark ride.  Each rider is an agent trainees who is to protect earth from aliens and chase them through the streets of New York in the interactive ride.  Despicable Me Minion is another great ride.  The new TRANSFORMERS 3D Ride is an ultra-immersive, next generation thrill ride that blurs the line between fiction and reality! And, we liked ET Adventure.   You board a flying bicycle and sneak him through the woods – past the police and scientists searching for him. Then take off and fly over the city, past the moon and soar across the stars together. At the end of the journey awaits his magical planet, filled with unforgettable creatures who greet you in song… with E.T. himself there to thank you personally.

Later we watched the festive Mardi Gras Parade!  It was exciting and our children caught lots of Mardi Gras Beads.    After the parade, we stopped in one of the bakeries and had King Cake to finish the Mardi Gras Celebration.

The next day we checked out and our son could not find his shoe.  Luckily about an hour later the staff at Lowes called us and housekeeping found the shoe!  Thanks to Loews Royal Pacific Resor the shoe arrived at our home via Fedex a few days later!
